So, the campaign is over, and sadly we lost the election. My county of Strafford, NH was the worst hit area by the Democrats. The Saturday before the election, there were two large liner busses that came up from Cape Code, Mass. with Obama supporters on it. They covered the streets of Rochester and throughout the county. I had about 18 volunteers in throughtout that Saturday, but I knew that I couldn't compete with that kind of a force. My numbers continued to grow on Sunday with 20 volunteers throughout the day, and the next few days, my numbers were growing and growing. I had somewhere around 40 volunteers on election day, but that was still no where near what the democrats had. I was praying so hard that the silent majority would come out and vote for us, but that did not happen. We only got 39% of the vote in Strafford County. The campaign had a conference call at 8:30pm to tell us that we had lost New Hampshire. What a crushing defeat for all of us. The part that also got to me was when my volunteers would come in and tell me that they had talked to the "volunteers" from next door, and that they didn't even care about Obama, but they did care about the $10.00 an hour they were being paid to campaign for Obama. All of this was very disheartening. It was also frustrating to hear from several of my poll checkers that the clerks were throwing away absentee ballotts of republican voters. At least 1 of my Poll Checkers, Tiffany Dabrieo, challenged the clerks, and she even got phone numbers of some of the people whose absentee ballots had been thrown away and she called the people to get them to come to the polls, and they did come down and vote. Thank you Tiffany!
The media won this election, by discrediting McCain and Palin the entire time. If they had just paid attention for one second at their good qualities, and the good policies they would have enacted in the executive branch, the election results would be very different, and I would be coming home with a President.
I want to thank the McCain Campaign for letting me have this wonderful experience to come up here and work for a the best team the Republican Party has ever seen. My office also experienced it's best day on election day, where we made close to 3,000 phone calls to our supporters, and knocked on over 500 doors. To my volunteers and my interns, I thank you for all of your hard work, and for coming in and working long hours to help us reach our goals. I will never forget the experience. I am looking forward to the Romney 2012 Campaign, where the Republicans finally take back the House, Senate and the Presidency!!! :)
